BRITANNIA is the original globe in the Bellerby range, and was cartographed in 2008 with a map accurate as of that year. It is painted to reflect modern trends in globe making, with pure turquoises and striking contrasts.

The Britannia was developed with the help of a distinguished typographer – if not one of the world authorities on fonts and types – James Mosley.
Mosley ran St. Brides printing library on Fleet Street for a large period of the latter twentieth century. He happened to pass by our workshop as we were researching the globe manufacturing process, and took an interest in our work.
He began to advise us on suitable fonts for our map, and after undertaking research in the vaults of the National Maritime Museum (which houses approximately four hundred globes), presented us with the Britannia font, after which the globe is named.
James Mosley lives a stone’s throw from our workshop, and continues to act as an advisor for our company.
